Mpumi Maesela joined Camp Sizanani Life Skills in 2017 as Country Director, overseeing the Southern Africa operations of the organization. Before CSLS, she founded Servicios Empresaviales Holdings (SE Holdings) in 2015. SE Holdings provides non-financial support and facilitates financial support to women owned businesses in Agriculture and Textile sectors in Southern Africa. She was responsible for structuring the support and or transactions to ensure value add for women business owners and sustainable value over time. She worked at WDB Investment Holdings from 2007 till 2015. She worked alongside management team on several key transactions such as the FirstRand Empowerment Trust refinancing and the Discovery refinancing and Bidvest collar transactions, Assupol transaction, Anglo Inyosi transaction, and PPP project with Group 5, WBHO and TFMC. She was responsible for the initial concept design of the Enterprise Development Fund, and was responsible for the development of the Fund’s objectives and activities. She oversaw all aspects of the fund, including management of the fund’s investments, its operations, together with ensuring its continued growth and the realisation of its social objectives. She wasfund manager in WDBIH ED Fund where she had to do due diligences on SMMEsthat we invested in and also sat on the Advisory Boards where investments were reviewed, rejected with conditions and approved in certain cases.
Mpumi is a portfolio steering committee member of the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) for the Risk Capital Fund I and II. In 2016, she was part of the delegation to Japan for African Japan Business Exchange with JICA (Japanese International Cooperation Agency) in Yokohama, Japan.
